The Manufacturing Manager sets the strategy and goals for the production department while overseeing the day-to-day operations of our processes with a focus on production efficiencies and cost reductions/containment.  This position also has responsibility for overall product quality utilizing a Lean Six Sigma approach and the application of ISO quality management standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for manufacturing function by defining strategy and road maps for investment in people, processes, and infrastructure to support business growth.
  • Manage the company’s Quality Management Program, taking the lead on company training and compliance, enforcing quality processes, and ensuring company-wide adherence to the program.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by using the Lean tools in processes in manufacturing and the application of ISO quality principles and standards.
  • Coordinate manufacturing with Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, and other departments, as well as with vendors and shippers.
  • Mentor, plan, and determine the optimal utilization of manufacturing workers and equipment to meet performance and safety requirements.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations, engaging employees to make safety and quality a priority.
  • Develop corrective action reports for any manufacturing problems and quality issues that may arise, develop and implement preventive actions.
  • Use best practices, maintaining and improving preventative maintenance systems and incorporating Lean tools in all production areas.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree (engineering degree a plus) and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a manufacturing environment leading a production team and with responsibility for product quality and the company’s quality management system.
  • Experience in a batch production environment.
  • Experience in the production of industrial sensors, electronically controlled products, or circuit board assembly.
  • Formal training in Lean Six Sigma, and putting those processes in place, a plus.
  • Strong organizational and managerial skills required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills applied to investigations.
  • Experience in ERP systems, NetSuite experience a plus.
  • Provide leadership in achieving cost, performance, and quality objectives.
  • Project Management experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Injection molding experience a plus.
